Follow Covenant and Witness as they travel this summer

June 14, 2017

Each summer for more than 70 years, Northwest Nazarene University has sent out summer ministry teams to camps and churches throughout the Northwest. This year’s teams, Covenant and Witness, are made up of talented and engaging students who have a heart for ministry.

The groups will visit camps and churches in the Northwest Region, sharing their heart and abilities for leading worship, serving others and connecting with youth. Last week Witness headed to Colorado for the first stop of their 8-week tour. Covenant will begin their summer tour Sunday, June 18 leading worship at College Church of the Nazarene in Nampa, Idaho.

Witness focuses on camp ministry and connecting with students. They spend most of their time getting dirty and working in the trenches of camps. Witness is composed of the following students: Deign Allred (Victor, Mont.), Ethan Gerdes (Buhl, Idaho), Hannah St. Michell (Meridian, Idaho), Lauren Akkerman (Nampa, Idaho), McKaylee Clark (Boise, Idaho) and McKinley Anderson (Enumclaw, Wash.) Find Witness’ travel schedule and learn more about the group members at nnu.edu/witness.

Covenant focuses on music ministry and leading worship at camps and churches. They also serve camps as cabin leaders, game hosts, and any other way that’s needed. The group is composed of the following members: Blaire Crutchley (Yakima, Wash.), Camilla Mowry (Twin Falls, Idaho), Grant Johnson (Ridgefield, Wash.), Jessica Rimer (Enumclaw, Wash), Jonathan Curty (Ashland, Ore.), Josh Dringenberg (Puyallup, Wash.), Kilen Multop (Bend, Ore.) and Nathan Horwood (Salt Lake City, Utah). Find Covenant’s travel schedule and learn more about the group members at nnu.edu/covenant.

Even if you’re not able to interact with these amazing students over the summer, please join us in praying that God will give them safe travels, continued health, and blessings on their lives and the lives of those they encounter.

You can also follow the teams' summer adventures on NNU's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
